George, Application Engineer of HYKK Solutions Limited
- George is a problem-solving Computer Science graduate with a passion for cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and system development. He enjoys understanding how systems work, optimising security, and building practical solutions.
- With a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Leeds Beckett University, George explored databases, networking protocols, and system architecture, gaining hands-on experience in building and securing digital systems. As part of the Leeds Beckett Ethical Hacking Society, he participated in Capture the Flag competitions, security workshops, and industry events like Securi-Tay, expanding his knowledge of cybersecurity risks and best practices.
- A strong supporter of the Right to Repair movement, George believes technology should be built to last. Frustrated by unrepairable hardware, he switched to a Framework laptop, embracing sustainability and open-source repairability.
- Currently, he’s developing a Python Flask-based local video downloader for Network Attached Storage (NAS) with Plex Media Server, allowing users to store and manage videos locally with full control over accessibility.
